This week in CEO was fun. I learned 1) the importance of being a part of community politics, and 2) taking time for myself through meditation. First, getting to be mayor of Belleville [in a mock city council meeting], with Patty Gregory, was really cool to play out, and I learned a lot through her exercise. I realized while participating that the city of Belleville does and decides a lot of things, including even allowing a business to operate in Belleville. It’s important to realize how you are impacted the community you are working in through all of their politics. With this exercise I also learned how to stay updated and involved in my local politics. And it has encouraged me to potentially become more involved in Belleville as I grow more love through it with the CEO program, by having so many amazing opportunities to connect with community leaders. Second, I learned this week I think I may really enjoy meditation. The exercise with Geri Boyer was really relaxing, and I may have just been really tired because this week has been insane for me, but anyways. The rest of the day I was in such a calm and relaxing head space that I’ve never really felt before. So I’m thinking about doing some more self-meditation in the future as a way to de-stress myself.
Lastly, after this week I am finally having time to put my personal business as my main priority. After an intense couple of months, I’m ready to begin my final part of CEO, and take everything I learned to have the most successful business I can create.
