This week was all about expanding my knowledge, strengthening my financial understanding, and deepening my community connections.

In class, we learned about commercials and camera angles, which made me realize how essential it is to reach potential consumers using the right words and the right visuals. Marketing is not just about selling a product—it’s about telling a story in a way that resonates with an audience. This insight has given me a new appreciation for how businesses communicate their value.

On the financial side, I finally gained a better understanding of my financials, thanks to Nick and my mentor, Anne Koleson. Their guidance helped me make sense of concepts that previously felt overwhelming, giving me more confidence in managing and planning for financial aspects of a business.

Saturday was an incredible day of mentorship and community engagement. I spent the entire day with Anne Koleson, and together, we:
• Campaigned with Mayor Patty Gregory, learning firsthand about community leadership and local governance.
• Toured historic Belleville, gaining a deeper appreciation for the city’s rich history and its role in the region.
• Had lunch with the Mayor at White Cottage, where we discussed my personal business plans.
• Met St. Clair County Chairman Mark Kern, expanding my network of leaders who are making an impact in our community.

Week 30 has been nothing short of a blessing. The experiences I’ve had and the relationships I’m building are helping me lay a strong foundation for a future in public service. Each connection I make brings new opportunities to learn, grow, and serve my community in a meaningful way.
